In addition, we welcome ANYONE to join us at this event to support our All-Stars. Legacy Brewing is extending some generousity and will be donating 20% of ALL SALES to our league!!!

2017 All-Star Tryouts & Draft Dates

All-Stars is here again. It’s a chance for MMGSoftball to be competitive against other leagues.

Any girls interested in trying out for a spot on the all-star team of their respective divisions should plan to try out on the following dates at the Hourglass Fields:

  • 8U: Mon. 05/01/17, 5:00pm
  • 10U: Tue. 05/02/17, 5:00pm
  • 12U: Wed. 05/03/15, 5:00pm

All drafts/rosters will be completed and turned in the day after each division’s try out evaluations. For example, 8U try outs are scheduled for Monday 05/01/17 and rosters for 8U must be submitted to the MMGSoftball Board of Directors for approval on Tuesday 05/02/17 by 4pm.

All Jersey measurements will be taken on the day of tryouts.

Fall ball team photos have been scheduled for the evening of Thursday, March 23, 2017.

Coaches will be handing out packets and the tentative picture schedule is as follows:

  • 4:45pm: Diamond Divas (T-Ball)
  • 4:55pm: Blue Stars (T-Ball)
  • 5:05pm: Bulldogs (8U)
  • 5:15pm: Shadow Ninjas (8U)
  • 5:25pm: Falcons (10U)
  • 5:35pm: Rebels (10U)
  • 5:45pm: Wolfpack (12U)
  • 5:55pm: Riptide (12U)
  • 6:05pm: Spirit Division

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time slot. We currently do not have any make-up dates scheduled for photos.

Tryouts/Assessments for Spring 2017 on 01/28/17

This serves as a reminder that assessments will be held this coming Saturday morning 01/28/2017 at Hourglass Park on either Field 1 or Field 5.

You should have received specific assessment times for your child(ren) via email. Please make sure to come with all necessary gear and ready to play.

Athletic/Instructional Clinic on 01/17/17

Due to the abundant rain (and we needed it), we are taking one more shot at hosting a clinic this Tuesday, 01/17/17 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (or until it gets too dark). We will be at the lower field at Westview Park.

There is a fee of $10.00 per player and this clinic is open ONLY to girls who are registered for the Spring 2017 season at Mira Mesa Girls Softball. Please be sure to show up in softball attire and bring your glove, cleats, helmet, bats, jacket, and water.

To kick off the Fall 2016 season we’re having a Uniform Pick-up and Fundraiser hosted by our friends at Legacy Brewing Tap & Kitchen.

Remember, our team doesn’t only exist on the field, MMGSoftball is tight-knit family. We live in the community. We hope that you will join us in celebrating and supporting us on Saturday September 10, 2016 at Legacy Brewing Tap & Kitchen from 12:00pm-5:00pm.

Simply come by and let your server/bartender know you are with Mira Mesa Girls Softball and 20% of your bill will be generously donated to our league.

Although it’s not required, we would really like to see some participation and have everyone wear their Mira Mesa Girls Softball uniforms and related gear and snap a picture with your server, or the bartender, or the manager on site. Spring 2016 Ends with All-Stars and Mira Mesa’s 4th of July Parade

The Spring 2016 season came to an end on July 3rd after a hard fought game that eventually came to a loss for Mira Mesa’s 10U team.

Both 8U and 10U showed noticeable improvement over their performances last season and we’re excited to see how the entire league will continue to grow and develop through the coming year.

We finished off our spring festivities with a day at beach:

as well as participating in Mira Mesa’s Annual 4th of July Parade in a caravan of trucks where players from MMGS waved to the passing crowds and recited rallying cheers:

Tryouts for 18U Mira Mesa Maniacs on 06/11/16

asaldana photo B21EC8D5-CCCD-426E-8DC6-0CB6A8877FAB_zpsiexriogz.jpgCoach Art Saldana (pictured) will be holding tryouts for his 18U team known as the Mira Mesa Maniacs on Saturday 06/11/16 at 8:00am at Hourglass Park. It is an open tryout for girls ages 14-18 and will last about 2-3 hours.

Players selected will begin practicing together as a team in preparation for the Fall 2016 season of the highly competitive GFL that is set to begin after Labor Day in September.

Coach Art is an excellent coach that teach the girls quite a bit from his years of baseball/softball knowledge. Spread the word! Residence is not a factor. If you make the team and you can get to the field… you can play!
